Learn to Crochet!
Start at the beginning to jump into the hobby of crochet. Take the first 3 classes to learn crochet basics, stitches and skills that build on each other as you progress through the creation of 9 different crochet blocks. The final class is joining and finishing, where you'll end up with a 9 patch stitch-sampler approximately 29 inches square, great as a wall hanging or table topper.
Level 4 - Joining/Flat Braid Join

Using only single crochet and chains work an intricate looking flat join and simple border. You need 4, 6, or 9 blocks - they must be very close in size (8 inches square) and outer edge stitch count (23 stitches, 1 or 2 st variation is ok). Learn: joining yarn, spacing and picking up stitches along edges including foundation chain edge and row-end edge, joining chain spaces to attach neighboring blocks, chain stitch border, final finishing.
