Principles of Color and Design

Service Description

Hands-on series of color exercises designed to help quilters understand how color and basic design interact with one another. Exercises may be sewn by machine or by hand, or fused. Color topics include hue, value, temperature, intensity and simultaneous contrast. We will look at design principles of repetition and variation, focal points, creating depth, and scale as they apply to the choices in fabric. Students will make several smaller projects rather than one large piece. There will be homework. Supply Experience level: Adventurous beginners and more experienced sewists alike will gain confidence in their own artistic process.
